I analyzed SB 9 and related teacher-retention proposals during the 2023 Texas legislative session. The question was how each funding design would affect districts and what it would cost statewide.

I joined district directory records with staffing and full-time-equivalent data, calculated the scenarios, and exported workbooks for review. I also mapped the share of teachers with six or more years of experience using district boundaries and staffing records.

The repository contains dated workbooks, scripts, notebooks, and maps. Those outputs reflect the proposals and source data available during that session.
