Free Invoice Maker
An invoice tool I’m building for people and AI agents, with visual editing, natural-language input, and programmable templates.
I started Free Invoice Maker after using FreeInvoiceGenerator.com for my work at Data for Public Education. I wanted to make my own version, with a visual editor for people and tools that AI agents could use directly. I’ve handled the design and development myself.
Forms, design tools, and natural language
I’m combining a quick invoice form with a more detailed visual template editor. Document editors, design software, and website builders informed the approach: useful defaults, with control over layout, typography, and content when you need it.
I’ve also built natural-language entry that turns a description of work into invoice fields you can review and edit.
Building for agents
MCP and browser-side tools expose structured invoice and template data. These interfaces let agents create and edit documents using the site’s own tools.
I’m exploring how AI could use a website, file, or other visual reference to guide an invoice’s design. The project already includes tools for extracting a website’s colors, fonts, and logo.
An ongoing project
The browser editor is live and can produce a PDF without an account. I use it for my own invoices. Work continues on accessibility, international use, search visibility, and the agent integrations. Paid access for bulk agent use is part of the plan; payment workflows are still in development.
